Hi, someone told me to add a ts sugar preparing the dough, is that correct? Why?

Yes, it's correct.

Seems that the sugar has something to do with the yeast, some people use to add 2 teaspoons, some people a little more.

Yeah Maria, you should add sugar to the dough. The sugar allows the yeast to feed off of it and gives your crust color when baking.
